Evan Margeson Racing
Biography

Evan was born in Tacoma, WA and still resides there.  In 2008 he celebrated is 20th birthday and his 8th year in competitive racing.  Most assumed that it was inevitable that he’d end up behind the wheel.  His dad Tom was racing midgets when he was born and then ultimately became a highly sought after car/crew chief preparing race cars for some of the most successful midget racers in the western US.  Tom now considers Evan his equal in the shop as he’s now making his off track living as a fabricator and in race car prep for the who’s who in the vintage racing world.  Evan also has a steady flow of fabrication projects come through their Tacoma race shop that include sprint cars and midgets among others.

Evan’s resume includes success at every turn.  He has numerous main event wins in an impressive number of different types of race cars including Karts, Legends, Ford Focus Dirt Midgets and of course his pavement Midget.  He lists a National Karting Championship and a WMRA Midget Racing Championship as two of the accomplishments he’s most proud of.  In describing the Margeson racing effort people always describe superior preparation and commitment.

When asked recently about his goals Evan stated, “It all started as a way for me and my dad to spend some quality time together.  It’s now really taking off.  We continue to have success at the National USAC level.  I hope we can find a way to keep going because I know we haven’t peaked yet.  I’m extremely lucky to be making my living now in motorsports.  I just hope that my continued success will lead to more “on track” and less “off track” income”.
